In terms of writing style, you can see that we stay true to the voice of the memoirist and — for childhood memories in particular — we try to retain a conversational style of writing. Our hope is that family members will be able to 'hear' the person speak, as they read.

Case Study
Rosemary, 87,
wanted to record her
memories of her
grandparents, her childhood,
her childhood home, and her early adulthood up to the point of
having children.
She felt that from then on the
stories became more familiar to the rest of the family.
Six hours of interview resulted in a memoir called Recollections with the following structure:
Introduction
Chapter 1 - Stories about her father’s family
Chapter 2 - Stories about her mother’s family
Chapter 3 - Her family and memories of her childhood home
Chapter 4 - Wartime recollections
Chapter 5 - Her experiences abroad in the 1950s
